Thomas Nocera, Managing Member. After retiring as a senior spokesperson for the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Disaster Assistance, Tom began assembling a team to execute the business plan for BeachTran, a 21st century transit company.  Prior to federal service, Tom worked as a marketing executive for GTE Mobilnet (now Verizon).  He also worked in a public relations capacity at Tropicana Field during the launch of Tampa Bay Rays Major League Baseball franchise.  His most memorable job was at age 20 in 1969 at Kennedy Space Center, as an associate engineer with the Bendix Corporation’s Launch Support Division.  He was the youngest member of the Launch Crew for Apollo 11.  Tom graduated from Largo High School, and then earned 3 college degrees including:  a B.S. in Aerospace Management (marketing minor) from Metropolitan State College of Colorado; an Associate in Science degree in Aerospace Technology from St. Petersburg College; and a M.A. degree in Communications from Western Michigan University.

 

Frank L. “Bud” Nocera, Chief Executive Officer.  Bud was the CEO of Visit Florida from 2002 – 2009 and prior to that was Chief Operating Officer.  More recently Bud was President of the Ft. Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce until his retirement from that position in 2016.  Bud holds an Air Frame and Power Plant license from the F.A.A. in addition to his Private Pilot’s license.  A graduate of Largo High School, he went on to earn a B.A. degree from the University of South Florida in Communications.  Bud has received numerous awards and national recognition for his leadership in the tourism industry.

 

Davidson Taveras, Chief Financial Officer.  Davidson graduated 3rd in his class at the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis.  He served as a pilot on active duty in the U.S. Navy and afterwards worked as a commercial airline pilot.  Davidson’s passion for finance and birth of twin sons triggered his decision to transition from the career as professional airline pilot to work for Morgan Stanley.  Davidson has earned licenses in several areas related to investments and insurance.

 

Joseph R. Corvino, Director of Community and Investor Relations.  Much of Joseph’s former career was as an executive for a major NY-NJ based printing company, where he served as a director.  Joseph has been involved in the promotion of BeachTran from its beginning.  Joseph served as a flight engineer in the U.S. Air Force (Military Airlift Command – MAC).  He is a graduate of St. John’s University and is a prominent resident of downtown Clearwater.

 

John Tewksbury, Director of Operations.  John served 10 years in the U.S. Navy as a communication officer.  After his honorable discharge from the Navy, John worked in the food service industry as a restaurant manager.  Drawing on his experience in the Navy, he then began a 20-year career with the U.S. Department of State as a communications and security officer until his retirement and then continued in the same field as a contractor throughout the Middle East.  Like the Nocera brothers, John also graduated from Largo High School.  He and his wife reside in Clearwater.

 

Steven Henley, Deputy Director of Operations.  Steve founded and owns Henley Natural Brands, LLC, a natural soap manufacturing business based in Tampa.  Steve’s professional background includes working for Syniverse Technologies (formerly Verizon) in a technical support capacity.  After graduating from Clearwater Central Catholic High School, he earned a B.S./B.A. degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida.

 

Châli Valery, Advocate.  Châli is an Honors Graduate of Tulane University.  Upon graduation Châli launched her professional management career in Atlanta.  In 2004, Châli founded her own business, Perfect Circuit, LLC, and for 12 years specialized in IT support and Media Development.  Châli and her husband live in Indian Rocks Beach.
